Position - Mechanical Designer

Location - Central, Pa

Hybrid (3 days in the office)

About The Role - 

A well-established engineering and manufacturing organization in Central Pennsylvania is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join its Engineering team. This role partners closely with Engineers and Operations to design, release, and support mechanical products from concept through production.

This is a hands-on, production-focused position ideal for someone who enjoys seeing their designs make it to the shop floor and collaborating across teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Create detailed part and assembly drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks 
  • Develop Bills of Material (BOMs) for product assemblies 
  • Collaborate with vendors on materials and fabrication methods 
  • Prepare drawings and documentation for production and external vendors 
  • Incorporate shop floor feedback to improve manufacturability and reduce rework 
  • Support engineering projects across multiple industries 
  • Maintain drawing control in compliance with ISO standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate degree in CAD, Drafting, or related technical field (or equivalent experience) 
  • 2+  years of mechanical design or drafting experience 
  • Working  knowledge of AutoCAD 
  • Experience  with 3D design (SolidWorks) or similar tools 
  • Understanding  of fabrication and manufacturing processes 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities 

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to shop floor equipment and manufacturing environments 
  • Knowledge of finishing processes 
  • Experience with ERP systems

Location: Hybrid (On-site and Remote)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for complex, engineered products and projects. This client-facing role works closely with customers, sales, engineering, and project teams to interpret technical requirements, develop pricing, and support proposals from initial inquiry through order placement.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable communicating technical and commercial information to both internal teams and external clients in a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations based on customer specifications, drawings, and technical requirements
  • Review RFQs, technical documentation, and project scope to determine labor, material, and production costs
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and project management to develop accurate pricing
  • Serve as a client-facing contact for estimate-related questions andclarifications
  • Evaluate risks, assumptions, and exclusions and clearly document them withinproposals
  • Maintain pricing accuracy and consistency in accordance with company standards
  • Support value engineering efforts and identify cost-effective solutions
  • Track revisions, changes, and updates to estimates and quotations
  • Assist with proposal preparation, technical clarifications, and bid submissions
